York Minster by Quentin Bargate

York, England

As some of you may know, I love taking church and cathedral shots, particularly interiors. I took a number of shots in York Minster recently with both large format and my Kodak 14nx, and this, with the 14nx in longer mode, was one that worked better than most. Heavily perspective corrected, but the Sigma @ 12mm allowed me to get all the window in.

other sizes: small medium original auto

Thanks both. The problem with LF for this is the dynamic range. It's far too wide for velvia, or probably even provia. I have a nice shot with LF without the window, and while LF has more abolute detail, this is artistically better - Quentin

I can imagine how much perspective corrective work you must have done to get this view. I would imagine that you had better dynamic range control with the Kodak than with larger format film. I really like it.

This is beautifully done and i love the golden light. A bit lost this size, but i bet it's stunning as a large print.
Flick.
