Solo Attack

St. Agnes Isles of Scilly UK

These gulls get awfully shirty if you go anywhere near their breeding sites - this one was heading straight at me - I thought I could use the lens as a defense system if it didn't give up!
Incidentally, for the ecologically minded - they nest all over the Isles of Scilly, so avoiding getting close to the sites is pretty impossible.

Nikon D2x ,Nikkor 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6D ED VR AF
1/2000s f/9.0 at 230.0mm iso400 full exif

Duck, in coming... You make it very difficult Jono. Surely you could have asked it to smile!! I mean if you're going to direct the subject, a smile would have been nice. Too good Jono. Regards Paul

REALLY nice one, Jono! Love the shadows....lends a more sinister impression. DF

You can almost see the whites (or golds) of his beady little eyes. And some detail in the shadows, too! --Kim
