Poster Man by Quentin Bargate (5th place)

Well, I almost forgot I had this - I "featured" in a recruitment ad for Middlesex University, and this is one of the posters the used, on the left, in a London Tube station. A different take on a self-portrait :-)

Kim, I'm sure somewhere in your comments is a compliment struggling to get out, although it hasn't quite made it yet:-) - Quentin

I'm not debating you, (of course!), but I thought it was within the realm of possibility that an older picture of you, fresh out of college, had been used to make the poster. That would be consistent with the poster coming out 3.5 years ago, yet with such a younger look. But heck, it could be the Kodak --or maybe the Mamiya?! --Kim

Kim, Nope the poster was taken about 3.5 years ago - I took the shot of the poster shortly after in came out. I'm 49 now so I was 45-46 when the poster shot was taken. Clearly the Kodak 14nx has taken its toll on me :-) - Quentin

This is so subtle! I know if I had been featured as such a "semi-celebrity" I would have captured my recorded image head-on, full frame. Here, you have literally become wallpaper along a tunnelled perspective shot. How self-effacing! You must have been about 35 in the photo? --Kim

Hey Flick, thanks. Slightly whacky to take a shot like this, and the underground staff were amused :-) These days I'd probably be arrested.

Hi Quentin, this i an excellent shot. how clever to photograph an image of yourself for the self portrait. You just don't look like that in real life - but what an excellent image you have for the campaign...name and all. I love the angle and perspective on the tunnel as well.
Flick.
