I've been having trouble squeezing 800-pixel images down to 200K, and at some point I changed the action to do 640 pixels instead. With the solid black background, this one could be 800 pixels. Maybe I'll enlarge it. Maybe I'll compromise on something like 720 pixels. - Warren

The colors and lighting in the image are masterful Warren. I see a potpourri of contrasts in this shot. Just curious as to why not an 800 pixel post? - Albert

It's interesting to watch how each of the better photographers here brings their personal strength to bear. You are the lighting King I think, not the mention probably the abstract King. Well done Warren I love it!

It is subdued light, but you notice the subtle color differences, textures and reflections more. It's very nice. Seems Christmassy to me because of the berries.--Kim

Thank you, David and Flick (not sure whether I should thank Quentin). The light is from 3 softboxes, one on each side and one above. The on-camera flash does not contribute any visible light to the photo; it just triggers the slaves on the other flashes. - Warren

I think you need your tablets, Quentin ;-)

Stop it Warren you're getting me excited...all those bulbous shapes, and cheeries to boot. I really like it :-) - Quentin

I've been looking at this on and off since you posted it and am beginning to see how clever it is. Just the simple action of placing the last cherry?radish? at the bottom of the avocado instead of on top almost turns it into a brain teaser. you would expect it to to be at the foot of the prickly pear or on top of the second avocado. Warren, i think you're a rebel, the kind of person who doesn't bother to write between the lines, or you're kicking over the constraints of your own personality...or maybe you're just a strange bloke who likes photographing bottles.
I see from the exif that you used on camera flash, but the light is nicely muted. Did you use a diffuser or was it bounced or otherwise controlled? Forgive me for the questions; I tend to prefer natural light. I haven't used flash very much with the 14nx as my SB 24 isn't really compatible.
Flick.

Well then, Warren....I love this one, and I'm glad to be the first to say so. (Also enjoy the two featuring the stone, potato, and erotic aid bottle.) DF
