"Traces of Leaves" by Warren Sarle

A sidewalk after leaves were blown away. The photo was almost monochrome to begin with. I desaturated in ACR, blurred a little, added a Gradient Map layer, and cropped severely.

The camera was pointing straight down, so I'm not sure which direction is sideways or upside down or whatever. - Warren

Actually, you know, the original is rather an abstract tonal composition with its own merits. The downward angle of the texture made me wonder if you turned the image sideways? Thanks for posting it! --Kim

Hmm - having seen your take on photos of asphalt, I think I might have preferred the original, still, it's different.

Or, I should clarify...I think this is much prettier than a photo of asphalt. And I'm not sure which picture ultimately is more relevant and meaningful... --Kim

But this is just old-fashioned abstract expressionism. There's nothing deranged about the image, although people who see me wandering around staring at pavement sometimes think I need treatment. - Warren
