The Lonely City by Quentin Bargate

London

The image hopefully speaks for itself. Taken in the financial district of the City of London, I removed a few individuals in the square to focus attention on and isolate this lonely figure eating a sandwich gazing at "Tower 42" in the distance (formerly the NatWest Tower). Colorised blue to reflect the mood, except fot the guy, then posterised, which I think adds to the sense of isolation.

Thanks, everyone. I confess to this being one of my personal favourite images. Maybe because I know the feeling sometimes...-Quentin

Elegantly captures the disparity between life at street level and that of the business world...The temperature of this scene is definitely chilly! --Kim

Lonely in the City opposed to Sex in the City. This image works very well, colours and post processing express the mood of emptiness very well. Great work, Quentin. - Stephen

Great image, Quentin. I like the posterisation, and the background looks like a gold toned print. the hunched way he's sitting says it all...
Flick.

Splendid - just the sort of thing I had in mind. Haven't seen anything like this of yours before, and I really like it!
