For a change of pace and perspective, I have started to use a rangefinder camera for my walkabout/travel photography.

The images in this gallery are from the Leica M8. It is Leica's first digital M-mount camera after a long history of popular 35mm film based M cameras. Tiny high quality rangefinder lenses from a multitude of manufacturers since the 1930s are compatible with the digital M8. These small high quality lenses make the system ideal for travel and unobtrusive candid situations. Rangefinders are not designed for effortless telephoto or macro situations so they are not always an easy alternative for SLR photographers. I maintain a Rangefinder Topic here at PBase.
