A strong chinook wind blows snow off Mt. Rundle in Banff National Park.

After seeing that long, long list of comments, I thought mine wouldn't add nothing which anybody already mentioned. I try anyway. Mark that's breathtaking to see the wind blowing over the summit. That's how a chinook works on a day like this. We have quite a similar wind-phenomen here in switzerland which gains power before the Alps. Thank you, Phyllis. This shot was taken from a viewpoint along the Trans-Canada highway at Vermilion Lakes near the Banff townsite. I've photographed Mount Rundle numerous times over the years and chinook winds are common (maybe a dozen times each season), but this was the one of strongest I have ever seen.
