Simply The Best
Evanston, Wyoming is one the highest cities in America. Which means it is probably one of the coldest. They built this Best Western single-story style right into the ground. Stays nice and toasty inside, even with a low of 20º, the heater never kicked-on.

Welcome To Colorado
More like welcome to cold and extremely windy!
Hey Colorado
It was not so long ago
I left your mountains to try life on the road
But I'm tired of that race
It was much too fast a pace
And I think I've found my place
Colorado, I want to come home
I had a man there but I left him far behind
I could have loved him if I'd only had the time
Ah but I stopped along my way
Just long enough to say
That I'd really like to stay
But my baby
You know I have to go
I was too young
To know what I'd done
I made my plans
But I was wrong
Yes I was wrong
Colorado
Is it too late to change my mind
I've done some thinking
And I'm trying hard to find
A way to come back home
Cause I've been so very long alone
Won't you take care of your own
Colorado
I think I'm coming home
I want to come home
Let me come home

Oklahoma is Okay!
Welcome to Oklahoma (Indian Nation).
Stayed in OKC a few hours down the road.
It was one of those real fancy Best Westerns.
But it was a Monday nite so the place was dead.

Striking out across the dry and dusty Mojave desert. The warmth was nice for a change. Arriving in Needles at 7:30 pm and still a balmy 80º.

The Ride
2008 Dodge Charger SXT. I certainly felt like a "red hot target" heading down the road. This is the "new red"; and it is bright as hell. And it turned some heads and many compliments along the way. Some lady was calling out at me at the rest area in Indiana telling me she passed me awhile back (yes, I was behaving with the cruise control), and she liked the car. It drove beautifully, but I thought the interior was kind of boring. Left Calif. with only 1307 miles on her and returned it with about 6800. She got a oil change of course. Two wind storms, one rain storm and a blowing snow event in Wyoming.
I initially only saw the one photographer's headlight reflection, but there's actually two. Tricky.
