I live usually about 5 months in Goa in India a year because of a couple diseases that don't like Norwegian winter. Therefore I spend some time for birdphotographing over there. Goa has a lot of wild birds and no hunting. Most of theese photos are shot by freehand because tripod can't be used till ex. when we go into ground backwater-areas allways by high tide in a small homemade canoe to get herons, egrets and blackheaded ibis just to mention some of the most common birds in there. The Lesser Adjutant Stork I "shot" in there. I've been there many times, but only once I met that treatened big bird that's up to 113 cm tall standing on it's feet. Unfortunately those photos are not so good. They just became like they became. But nevertheless I'm happy that I got to see that bird once. Maybe I never see it again. Most of the Black Kite photos I shoot on a Garbage Heap where I always find a lot of them in the air and have to use my Canon 28-300mm with a stabiliser by freehand to get them. I've tried bigger lenses with a tripod, but impossible. They allways move, turns and dive to quick.
