The splendid ride down the Island coastline on the last day was not without mishap.
Oleh's beautiful new Merlin kept blowing inner tubes along the way.
Careful inspection showed that the back tire may have had a manufacturing defect.
Not only that, the spokes had been poorly adjusted by the shop
before he left, leaving the back wheel wobbling badly.
Thankfully, the bike held together until just after Parksville,
so he was able to do most of the ride.
