HUCK FINN ‘BRIDGEPORT STYLE'

BRIDGEPORT, CT - On September 3 at approximately 7:00 pm, members of the Bridgeport Fire Department spotted a group of youths paddling their way down the Pequonnock River behind Fire Headquarters. This group of locals had ‘commandeered’ a weathered boat dock, loaded up their bikes and fishing poles, and set sail along the Pequonnock River. They told us they had traveled quite far and had been sailing on the dock for over two and a half hours. We coaxed them to come ’ashore’ behind the firehouse for safety reasons, seeing none of them had a cell phone, it was getting late, and we didn’t think their ’vessel’ would fair well on their way across the Sound to Long Island.

You know what moron, why don't you go to your nearest dock, undo it, put your adventurous children on it, hand them a 2x4 and tell them to be home before the street lights come on. Oh, being your special kids, they can probably find their way home using the stars, so tell to be home whenever.
It would have been real heartwarming when these kids flipped over and drown, right? I get angry at crap like this because I am one of the ones that has to go find these kids and then do CPR on a 10 year old. Unless you know what you are talking about shut your goddamn mouth, get in your little Subaru and get lost.

"Future of America" commenter: I find this incident though dangerous, rather heartwarming. I'd rather have adult citizens who had a sense of adventure and discovery as children than angry cynics like yourself.

Wow for a minute I thought it was a photo of George Washington crossing the Deleware again. The future of America looks bright as ever. Just think ,our current President was born in CT, you do the math.
