DERBY, CT - At approximately 11:00 a.m. on May 26, the Derby Fire Department was dispatched along with EMS for an extrication called in by the State P.D. on Route 8. The 1993 Ford Ranger was found off the shoulder of Route 8 Southbound near Exit 17. Unfortunately, the driver of the vehicle was killed when the Ranger struck a rocky embankment.
