BRIDGEPORT, CT - At approximately 1:55 p.m. on August 24, Bridgeport’s Engine-5 was backing into quarters when they noticed pilings burning across the river from the station. They called it in to dispatch and responded to the fire. The pilings had accidently caught fire from workers using torches on a metal framed building right above the pilings. These photos were taken across the river from the backyard of Bridgeport Fire Headquarters at 30 Congress Street.
