MANHATTAN, CT - On the afternoon of March 7, Manhattan companies were dispatched to the area of East 54th Street and 2nd Avenue for a reported structural fire. Heavy smoke could be seen from throughout the area but initially proved difficult to find due to its location in the rear of a restaurant, surrounded by taller structures. The fire was finally located on East 53rd Street and 2nd Avenue. The fire burned through the roof of the structure, but was contained to the building of origin.
