BRIDGEPORT, CT – On February 20, the City of Bridgeport and Mayor John Fabrizi honored Garth Trotto by making him an honorary firefighter in City Hall’s Common Council Chamber. Garth has spent the last 25 years following the fire department, helping out at fire scenes (bringing fresh air bottles, refreshments, etc. to the working firefighters), and becoming a regular at city firehouses. His efforts were acknowledged during this month’s Common Council meeting. Among those present to honor Garth were his family, Bridgeport Battalion 2, Bridgeport Rescue Company 5, and Bridgeport Engine Company 1.
