康華麗斯古堡炮台(Fort Cornwallis)曾分別被英軍和日軍佔領過,日本投降後炮台再度由英軍把守,現在城牆和四門古炮台依然屹立不倒.
炮台原是木造的,在1808年當地政府命囚犯將其改建成石造.
