The renewed Contracted Flight Training Service (CFTS) porgram located in Southport, Manitoba, recently received their 7 new C-90B King Air twin turbo-prop aircraft and first 3 of the 6 single piston engine Grob 120A aircraft.
While the new configuration Bell 412 helicopters will not be ready for a few more months, 3 of the Bell 206 Jet Rangers have been updated now with new/additional equipment, the updated aircraft can easily be identified by their new all dark blue paint scheme. In time all Bell 206 Jet Rangers in the fleet will also be updated to the new configuration.
The little yellow aircraft is a Musketeer, one of the ealrier aircraft used in Canadian Forces primary flight training program, this aircraft was likely a training aid for cockpit familiarization, its outer wing panels were removed to conserve space, its role has now been replaced by the new all-composite Grob 120A aircraft. The Musketeer(with "clipped" wing), sits quietly in the back corner of the 5 Hangar, nearly hidden by all the new C-90B parked in front of it.
