A formal dinner function was held Friday night at the Officer Mess, speechs from Team Lead Maj. Ian McLean, Wing Commander Col. R.D. Foster, MPP Laurie Hawn, and Master of Ceremony Maj. Cory Blakely were enjoyed by the guests in attendance.
Significant mentions through the evening are the Tutor Jet display model in Snowbirds colour scheme presented to the 2005-2006 Snowbirds #10 Coordinator Pilot Capt. Tery Lebel who will be retiring from the Canadian Forces in a few weeks, Thank You plaque to Warrant Officer Barry Ripley who hands over the all important responsibility of the Crew Chief position to Sgt. Marlene Shillingford, and outgoing Deputy Crew Chief MCpl Darrell Fournier who received the coveted award in memory of Capt. Miles Selby for outstanding dedication to the 431 Sqn, this was presented by Capt. Selby's wife Julie Selby in an emotional moment that touched everyone present at the dinner function. Fond farewells were also extended to Snowbird #6 Capt. Patrick Gobeil and #8 Capt. Andy MacKay who have completed their tour with the Snowbirds team.
