Very cool program night at our Club meeting. Jerry and Andy are 2 great guys from PSRI, and they brought several still life setups, most of which included lighting objects from underneath. Jerry had found this shell (someone help with the name, please!!) in Florida and had it sliced in half with a diamond saw. It was suspended by a custom cut peice of cardboard with a hot light under, and a blue and red light on either side. I happened to bring my gels and held the red gel above the hot light to get this effect. The green was really cool too, but I couldn't shoot and hold the gel at the same time :( We had the tripods set half on the stage and half on the floor to get the straight down look. Cool stuff tonight. All the defects are within the shell itself and I did no saturation boost to the colors. Sharpened and resized and a clone or 2 of stray light.

That would be Nautilus, sorry.

I think it's a Nautilis shell, something like that.
How very beautiful it is.
