This is a rather nice photo of the rope, but that cob in the middle is just so ...odd! The way it blends in by virtue of its color adds to the strangeness. See - this is the stuff nightmares are made of. I'm going to start concocting all kinds of strange explanations of why that cob is right there. What manner of beast would perform such an act? I'm not sure I want to know. ;)

I really like this image as well. The way the rope is displayed in your picture is perfect. The winding gives this picture almost motion. Beautiful done.
