The river in town overflowed it's banks between 9a and 12n today. Yesterday the river was high, today the frontloaders with sand (stored for winter use) were out, neighbors bagging the sand, people evacuated, and fears that upriver dams were not going to hold. Ran into this at about 1p, even before the police had arrived when I went out on an errand this afternoon. Oliver and I went to a few different places after talking with folks, we came back to our starting point to find another 6" or so had flooded the park area.
