Praha Jewish Cemetery

Despite the loads of people going through it no stop, the Jewish cemetery in Prague is still a very mystical place... I discovered here the tradition of paying respect by placing little gift, gravel and similar on the top of the tumbstones

Hi David,

Thanks for the precisation. Yes, I did not see any flowers and it was mostly litle stones . But I also saw several little written notes. Is it part of the tradition?

If you are interested I have taken several other shots of the Praha Jewish cemetery and you can find then here.

Actually, the jewish tradition while visiting someone's grave is to place a small stone (or gravel) on the tombstone, to indicate that you were there...
It is not customed to leave flowers, though...
Good picture, it does capture the mistery of the place...
