Another view of a typical bogs. The type of landscapes were very typical throughout Ontario, but have now remained essentially only in protected parks. Luckily the Ontario park system (and Canadian in general) is very extensive and well maintained, and quite popular with Canadian which supports them strongly.

I wish it were true that bogs and wetlands in general were highly regarded by Canadians. In fact, most would describe them as "wastelands" and continue to plow them under and back-fill them indiscriminately, despite protective legislation. If more people could see images like this, that might change! Beautiful.
