Snow Goose and Allies (Genus Chen)

The first image is of a Snow Goose seen near Olympia Washington that does not have the red staining from tundra water as described in the Peterson guide. The other Snow Goose images are of a rather rare visitor to New England. They show the red stain.

The other species in this genus are Ross's and Emperor. Ross's are occassionally seen in New England (in winter) but the Emperor is an uncommon bird and are only found in the Bering Sea.
