This gallery contains images of the first Mississippi Kites ever recorded in New Hampshire. They winter far down into South America. Their breeding range is the central Great Plains states, Gulf Coast and up the Atlantic Coast into the Carolinas and southern Virginia. These birds are nesting in Newmarket, NH and are causing quite a commotion.
Cool! You are so lucky to have seen these. Since they're nesting you'll probably see them again. I'd be interested to hear about their ecological impact. Too soon for studies, I suppose.
