The first day of spring was warm and beautiful, and the Great Blue Herons were busy sorting out nest occupancy and preparing them for the upcoming breeding season. Other species were present on the marsh, including Canada Geese, Green-winged Teal, Hooded Mergansers (no images), three Wood Ducks, a Muskrat or two, and a pair of unidentifiable ducks. I have a special fondness for Great Blue Herons, and this gallery includes 3 sequences of interactions I saw today.
