Each of the 4 species of Eiders occur in North America. Steller's and Spectacled Eiders are coastal tundra birds, only seen in the Bering Sea and don't wander far from their breeding grounds. King Eiders are also tundra birds, but have a larger range and are sometimes seen along the New England coast in winter. Common Eiders are just that, common on marine coasts from New England to the Arctic to Alaska.
