Family Entrance

1305 Bailey Ave. Buffalo

Remember when almost every corner bar in Buffalo had a family entrance? Used mostly for Friday fish-fries, I guess. This ex-bar is at 1305 Bailey, kitty-corner from where Bailo's used to be.

I remember walking past "Central" and smelling the fish frying on Friday afternoons, and the great Beef on weck sandwiches.

This was Central Bar in the 60’s & 70’s and it closed in the late 70’s and is across the street from Bremmen Spiece Plymouth Dealer. Diagonally across the Street from Central Bar was Bailo’s House of Beef and the Green Building directly across the street from Central Bar in this picture was Bill Heinzenberger’s Delicatessan which closed in the early 70’s.
