the nickel a dance was a favorite activity before ww two..in the evening,the rotating mirrored ball with its interesting lite patterens was a high light of the evening,,when glen miller band played there after ww 2,the young folks just remained in awe as the old folks danced to the familar tunes..

The last time I visited the ballroom was in 1959 when Stan Kenton was the featured band. I wish that Crystal Beach could have been "saved". It's a long swim but a short ride to Crystal Beach".
