The Mopar 413 first appeared in the Chrysler line in 1959. In 1962, the 413 Max Wedge appeared in the Dodge and Plymouth lines. Dodge called their versions "Ramchargers," and Plymouth marketed theirs as "Super Stocks."
The Max Wedges had larger intake and exhaust valves, solid lifters, an aluminum cross ram intake manifold, and freer flowing exhaust manifolds. Two versions were available; a 410 horsepower with 11.0 compression, and a 420 horsepower with 13.5 compression. 1962 was the only year of the 413 Max Wedges.
The last year for the 413 engines was 1965, being replaced by a 426 cubic inch Max Wedge.
