Beauregard School Canal Street

The Beauregard School, was built in the late 1800's, and was named after the Civil War General. In the 1990's, it was renamed the Thurgood Marshall School. After Katrina, it housed two charter schools, the Pierre Capdeau Early College High School, and the Langston Hughes Academy.

Lee Harvey Oswald, the alleged assassin of President Kennedy attended the Beauregard School in 1954 and 1955.
