It starts out slow, and just a little confusing, jumping back and forth from recalled conversations with an old time New Mexico traveling salesman and the authors own observations and experience. But the author builds a rhythm, and the book becomes an interesting read presenting what to see along Route 66, what it means, where it came from, and the importance and value of it all. The author's humor comes through, adding to the joy of the book. Very detailed driving directions are included where necessary.
