Blackie's Place was located 38 miles east of Albuquerque on Highway 66. Blackie's advertised as having the best food and largest selection of curios on Route 66.
The building survives, although remodeled and is reportedly a pharmacy. A few doors away, another business named "Blackie's" has opened, as a bar and grill, and has no connection to the original "Blackie's."
For a complete chronology of it's status, see Olsen's "Route 66 Lost & Found."
