The viewpoint to Waipio Valley on the Big Island. Waipio Valley is located in the north east corner of the island. During the "War" the army kept a post on the beach and cut a steep road to the bottom of the valley. The state of Hawaii has not seen fit to upgrade the road. I hope the state never does. The road is pretty much the same as 1941. There is a small number of families that live in a handful of houses in the valley. George, my guide and driver, lives in a small house on the valley floor.
