We begin our walk down the Mount of Olives. There are many Jewish grave sites and cemeteries on the western slope of the Mount of Olives. We see Temple Mount in the near distance.

We see an old Jewish Cemetery on our way down the Mount of Olives. The very bright domes of the Russian Orthodox Church farther down the hill and Temple Mount in the distance.

Some monks from Orthodox Greek Church pass us by as we walk to an overlook to Gethsemane.

The overlook to Gethsemane with the bright Russian Domes in the middle of the shot. These domes are gold leaf covered. The gold leaf was done in the last few years with money from the Russian government.

A closer view of the Islamic "Dome of the Rock". The "Dome of the Rock" is built on the foundations of the Old Jewish Temple which was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD and the total destruction in 133 AD. The foundations are Jewish and the Mosque is Islamic. The "Dome of the Rock" was completed in 691 AD. And that's the problem, these two cultures are built one on top of the other. You can't separate the two. They will have to learn to live in peace simply because there is no other choice.
