The Hubbard Glacier

Panoramic view of the Hubbard Glacier and some Miscellaneous shots taken at random. Most of these pictures were taken sailing into the glacier. Wind had blow most of the sea ice out to sea. The captain took the ship to less than a mile from the glacier at one point. That is unusually close for a large ship. The Hubbard is the largest glacier in Alaska. It is 73 miles long and 600 feet high. 250 feet are below water and 350 feet are above the water line. When you view some of the blocks of ice going into the water that should give you an idea of how large they really are.
