First Calving Sequence at Hubbard Glacier. We were very blessed on our visit to the largest glacier in Alaska. The wind for 3 days blew ice near the glacier out to Sea. The captain was able to maneuver the ship to less than a mile from the glacier, which is extremely close. The Hubbard is 600 feet high with 350 feet above the water. It was an unbelievable experience.

In this sequence many parts of the glacier face came down pieces at a time. You can see the cracks in the ice. Some of the piece many have been 50 to 80 feet long.
