Very intense and impressing photo. Beautiful and miserable you mention. Yes. Before reading your text I asked myself: is it power or despair in her eyes - rather it is both... The schoolparade to the right is a fine symbol of hope - but for the mother perhaps of the missed opportunity. Excellent composition - for the eye and for the message. V!
