A couple winters ago a famine up north drove millions more than usual owls to my neighborhood. Owls were everywhere!

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. Many have asked about the lens - I was happy to catch this pic with my inexpensive Sigma 70-300 in early evening light.

He was perched on a light pole when I stopped my car and shot from the window just as he lifted off. The ugly pole was only slightly below his wing at this point so I cloned it out. You may be able to see my clumsy work at his wingtip. Hope this helps! Kim
