Yes Kathleen, the flight attendant who took my mothers place on that flight was an Austrailian named Kathleen. She was hired bu Owen "Bobby" Roberts. My mother was the usual flight attendant but she had kidney surgery and was not cleared to fly. The co-pilot was found in the cabin still strapped in the left seat so he was the actual pilot at the time of the crash. Bobbl Roberts owned 90 percent of the business and my father owned 10 percent as Chief Pilot.

I don't how old this post is but my 29 yr old Aunt was also on that plane that crashed. She worked for Owen Roberts. Her name was Kathleen. I am her namesake.

Thank you so very much for your response to my email. My father was Captain Robert Wilson, the pilot of this plane. It crashed of Palisadoes Airport in Kingston, Jamaica on April 10, 1953. The plane was owned by Caribbean International Airways, Ltd. out of Kingston. The CFO was Owen (Bobby) Roberts and Chief Pilot was my father. They were both killed in the crash and the airline went under. Bobby Roberts was my father's commanding officer in the RAF during the war. After the war they went to Jamaica to start air travel between the islands. Bobby Roberts was the money and my father was the pilot. Lockeed said that the crash was caused by faulty metal in the body of the airplane. It took off and went down a half mile off the coast. The airport at Grand Cayman is named after Owen Roberts. I was just 5 years old when this all happened. My sister was 7. We stayed in Jamaica until 1958 when my mother remarried and we ended up in Tampa Florida in 1961 where I have lived ever since. My mother has very little memory of this time and no photos so I am especially thankful to your father for taking these pictures. Owen Roberts is burried in England, but my father is burried in Jamaica. I hope to get back there someday to see his grave. If you do find more photos, I will be very thankful if you would email them to me. Again, thank you so much.
