The vessel sank off Brockville during a failed salvage attempt of another vessel. From the photographer's understanding, a steel tank that was being used to re-float the first vessel let go, striking the Gaskin on her starboard side creating the hole as seen below. The vessel is upright at a depth of 70 feet about 800 feet off Centeen Park in Brockville.
