Wats on Phu Si

Did I mention walking up stairs in the humid Lao weather is not a very pleasant thing to do?  Hmm, 100 metres up from the main street of town will take you to the top of Phu Si hill and reward you with panoramic views of the town, Mekong river and Nam Khan(h) river.
 
Coming up from the stairs on the left provides a more scenic route which includes various buddas, steps with nagas, and stupas, plus it's much less steep too - a big bonus in the heat.  :)  Apart from providing beautiful views, the top is also apparently very popular place to watch the sunset over the Mekong.
 
Anyway, going straight down takes us to the main street just in time to catch the locals setting up their wares for the night market.  Needless to say, a quick trip back to the hotel to drop off our stuff and we were right back where we started - only this time with shopping in mind.
