1st October 2005Finally, a public holiday in Hong Kong that I was in town for, albeit it did fall on a Saturday (some people have to work on Saturday's - especially the local companies). Anyway, after more than a year with a window view of any fireworks in town, I was finally able to make the most of my extortion-type-of-rent and enjoy the view. Unfortunately, the weather wasn't too cooperative as a haze had come in the day before. Anyway, the 30 minutes of fireworks was something different from the usual get to a public vantage point half a day before and get packed in like a sardine. But having said that, a crowd of people can make all the difference when it comes to creating right ambience.
