Lama Temple

The Yonghe Temple (雍和宮) or "Palace of Peace and Harmony Lama Temple" or "Yonghe Lamasery" or just plain "Lama Temple" is a temple and monastery Geluk School of Tibetan Buddhism.  The building work started during 1694 during the Qing Dynasty and contains a 18m tall statue of the Maitreya Buddha carved from a single piece of White Sandalwood.

 

Not much to say here except ... go to Tibet to see the real thing.
