Just a short 1 hour hop from Singapore, Bintan is loved by tourists for it's beaches and it's impressive golf courses - something that we made the most of during our side trip from Singapore. The sea side Jack Nicklaus course at Bintan Lagoon was tough but you are well rewarded by its spectacular holes. While the adjacent long, long, long beach provided a nice two hour return walk along it's beautiful white sands.
