Pam and I camped @ Burmis Lake, our usual bad luck dictates a downpour @ 10:00, loud drunken neighbours to about 2:00 a.m.! (Great place to camp otherwise, i.e. during the week). Up early next a.m., can’t fool the little guys from bellyboat – taking tiny mayfly/midge). After breakfast, head downstream a bit – work up to bridge. It’s shaping up to be a perfect flyfishing day – warm, calm, overcast – catch ½ doz. .fish up to 14”, PMD imitation after lunch, cross private bridge across field to “Corner Pool” – things start happening – fair number of Baetis about, fish rising in the eddies – Tar & I fart around awhile (see photos) – end up with 17 fish from pool – things really go nuts about 3:00 – fish rising everywhere, heavy, heavy hatch of BWO’s (am using #16 or #18), end up with 50 fish for the afternoon. Light drizzle sets in, fish have lost all caution – a few larger fish starting to work toward the latter part of the p.m. Head back for supper – rain continues – neighbours ready to party – we decide to book it on out. A great day. 56 fish new personal record.
