John S. and I get out to the dam about 5:30; things are slow tonite; the wind is blowing hard so I fool around with a streamer for awhile, no results. We wade across and take a look – there are a few sporadic rises from time to time, but no real action to speak of until about 8:00 when the caddis hordes get thicker. I eventually hook and land 2 fish, the first a 3 # 18” ‘er, the 2nd a fine 3 3’4 # 20 ½” ‘er, both on brown Elk Hair Caddis…Run into Roger Baxter and is pal Stu the barber – they’re out looking for whitefish…turns out they were there on Sun. nite as well…
Weather note: we had a brief bout of cool wet weather in early September but things seem to have turned around again – forecast high for Sept 12 is 26 °
