With Frank and Wade; we meet at 7:00 a.m. on this frigid (-8 Celsius) October morn, yesterday's snow still on the ground. When we arrive at the put-in beneath the Hwy. 24 bridge, we unanimously agree to adjourn for breakfast in Carseland. Even when we finally hit the water (10:30?), there's ice in the guides. However, we get some decent early action on streamers, and Frank lands an absolute hog of a 'bow (BRB). Things then slow to a crawl, until we're moving back up. Wade spots some risers, and we have a good time fishing to snouts (and taking photos) for a good while... (the "crystal ant" does the trick) - Wade lands a misshapen brown trout....
