What a difference a day makes… warm temp’s yesterday – 6” more water and 3’ less visibility… sigh… Predictably slower action – big fish breaks me off @ “S-bend” pool down from Westcastle Bridge. Tar steals goose egg while I explore “new” territory further downstream – more pretty water … Check the Moose Wallow – cattle have been in over winter and made a pretty big mess. See 1 good fish rise @ neck – 3 big geese squabbling, 1 PMD. Look @ Summit Lake on map – it’s in B.C. Talk to 2 FFF’s from Fernie – hear of 17 lb. bull trout from Elk River – hmmm… opens June 1. Try the Burmis stretch @ dusk, but no go – water is even higher & darker. Another hot day, more forecast.
